Twitter To Expand The Character Limit Soon

The world famous microblogging website, Twitter would soon be giving up the character limit restriction. The 140 character limit was a sore spot for many Twitter users, who always felt that the restriction was way too much stringent. In what seems to be a happy news for all, the company may soon do away with the limit and expand it up to 10,000 characters. This will provide enough freedom to people to rant away and include as much media they want in the tweets.

Twitter’s CEO, Jack Dorsey hinted towards this plausible change on his profile.

Things we’ll miss if the limit expands

  • The wise selection of words.
  • The meaningless rants.
  • The obvious slangs.
  • The intelligence to understand brevity.

Things we’ll be glad if the limit expands

  • The explicable private messages.
  • The satisfying rants.
  • An end to vowel-less words.
  • Not having to brainstorm to draft a tweet!

Whether or not, or how soon this change will be implemented is still unknown. With Dorsey’s positive indication towards the Twitter character limit expansion, people will be more than happy to microblog their everyday life. The character limit has already been removed from the private messages and the change is highly anticipated for the tweets as well. With over 10,000 characters to use, we are interested to see how much or how long will people tweet!
