Five times World Amateur Boxing Champion from 2002 to 2010, and the mother of two, Mary Kom is a well known face of Indian sports. Nicknamed as “Magnificent Mary”, she started her career in 2000 at the age of 18, and since then, never looked back. She is the only Indian female boxer to win an Olympic bronze medal in 2012. Her other prominent achievement came from Asian games where she won bronze in 2010 and gold medal in 2014. She was the proud recipient of Padma Bhushan (Sports) in 2013, Arjuna Awards (Boxing) in 2003, and Padma Shree (Sports) in 2006. Mary Kom’s life was also showcased in a biographical film, where the uber popular Priyanka Chopra played her character.
