AlphaGo defeated the world ‘Go’ champion- Ke Jie

It is anticipated that one-day technology will take over a human. This became evident when recently Google ‘s artificial intelligence program, AlphaGo beats Chinese ‘Go’ master named Ke Jie for the second time on Thursday. The Alpha Go score was 2-0 lead in the best of three series. This test was conducted to test the limits of computers when it comes to complex tasks.

What is Go?

Go is a highly complex board game, which evolved thousands of years back. In this game, two contestants have to place black and white stones on a grid. This game is quite popular in Asian countries such as China, Japan, and South Korea.

Who is “Alpha Go”?

You might be thinking who is AlphaGo. Well, AlphaGo is the program built by Deepmind, a British AT startup that was acquired by Google in 2014.The Deepmind mission is to solve intelligence, which can be achieved by combining the best parts of machine learning and system neuroscience and algorithm. Deepmind not only wants AI to be integrated into machines but it also wants to understand how human brain works.

It gained popularity when it defeated Korean Go legend Lee Se-dol by 4-1.Prior to this, Alpha Go has defeated European Go Champion Fan Hui 5-0.It was the first time that AI had defeated a professional Go player.

It was clearly seen that Ke, the 19 –year-old world got frustrated, tugging his hair and laying his head on the table during the final match.

Ke said after the game” “Last year, I think the way AlphaGo played was pretty close to human beings, but today I think he plays like the God of Go,”

When Ke got defeated on Tuesday in the first match, he said that he would not compete against AI again due to its rapid improvement.

This event held at the eastern river town of Wuzhen and local officials attended it.

The tournament is held from May 23- 27.There is only one match left to play, and Ke Lie can only hope that he wins last match and score 1-2.On May 26th Alpha Go will participate in a pair match and will try to win five seasoned players all at once. The match has been broadcasted in Mandarin and English livestreams and even Youtube.

After the match, Ke who has 3.5 m followers on Twitter-like service Weibo shared the details of the Google event and his trip to Wuzhen for the tournament.
