How have you arranged and decorated your home? That’s your personal matter?? Not my business?? But, that’s a really important question. And I would tell you that how you adorn your home, can have a serious impact on your health.

Allow natural light to enter the room and feel the magic. It will rejuvenate you, liven up your mood and make you more productive. You will be naturally happy. Wondering what to do with that room that’s dark with no or little space for natural light? These 5 tips are going to quickly resolve your issue.

A well-arranged home space is directly proportional to a healthy immune system.

1. Choose a light color palette

First of all, pay attention to the wall colors. Make sure that these are light-colored or get the walls repainted if they are not. Light colors are better reflectors of natural light. Select cool colors and do the same with your furniture.

2. Set your furniture in a new way

Do you know that your furniture, especially if large, may be blocking the way of natural light? Keep these at a good distance (around 3 feet) from the window for the light to pass easily. Try keeping other objects such as cupboard or a bookshelf along the wall with the window, so that the natural light enters wholly in the room.

3. Check out the windows

Take a look at all the windows in your home and check if there is something that is probably blocking the natural light from entering in. Be it a tree branch or dust, remove it.

4. Hang mirrors opposite the window

Mirrors are the best reflectors of light. Thus, it is suggested to hang mirrors in the room, better if facing the window. To make it easier, buy mirror-incorporated furniture or other decorative pieces with metallic bases.

5. Don’t use heavy fabrics

If you use thick curtains against windows, they will block the natural light even if you pull them open. I won’t say lessen the use of heavy fabrics; just completely avoid them, whether curtains or rugs. They provide your room a sense of darkness which you don’t want. Instead, use cotton or linen and feel relaxed while keeping the room spacious and lighter in feel.

Darkness itself gives you a feeling of melancholy. Why live a depressing life, when you have lovely reviving options around you?
